Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking
1.1 Introduction
Evaccess are a company which has a turnover under £36m which means that we do not meet the requirements necessary within the 2015 Modern Slavery Act, but we still choose to voluntarily produce a statement on slavery and human trafficking. This is useful for smaller businesses like us who bid with larger businesses above the threshold. Having this statement provides a level of assurance to out customers and suppliers. Evaccess encourage all businesses to provide an open and transparent statement regarding their recruitment practices, policies, modern slavery and safeguarding procedures. Evaccess promise to take steps that are appropriate with their sector, size and operational reach.
1.2 Structure, Business and Supply Chains
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in our organisation and our supply chains.
Evaccess has two directors, two self employed consultants, one trainer and two engineers. All of these persons are known to the directors as the business operates from a home office and therefore these persons are in the home belonging to the directors.
The company purchase from the Europe equivalent of Ltd companies. Evaccess ensure all of these companies have complete their relevant assessments on equality and pay the correct and fair wages.
1.3 Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking
At Evaccess, we only employ persons already known to us, or known by persons we know. We ensure our staff are always paid in line with the living wage and are paid fairly for the work that they are doing.
Persons who work with us are made aware of the human trafficking policy and the rights that they hold to be paid fairly and correctly for the job they have completed. Directors maintain an open door policy where employees are welcome at any time to discuss pay.
The suppliers we use have worked with us for many years and are companies that we are confident comply with the highest standard of equality. All the suppliers we currently work with have up to date anti-slavery policies and do their utmost to ensure that there is no exploitation at any point within their supply line.
If we were to deal with a new supplier, we would ask to see their policies to ensure that they are in line with the high ethical standards at Evaccess. Companies who are to ensuring that their immediate business and their wider supply chains are free from exploitation of any kind will not be permitted to work with us in any way.
