Lady had booked her wedding having been assured that the venue was fully accessible as future father in law was paralysed and in a powered wheelchair. Weeks before the wedding day she checked again and was told it was accessible as long as he could transfer out of his powered wheelchair to a manual one that fitted on their stair climber! This was not possible. The venue is partially accessible.
What we found
Lovely wide stairs and no issues for the Super Trac TRE70 or TRE52 that takes powered and manual wheelchairs and this then makes the venue accessible and enables the future father in law to attend the wedding. The bride and groom had to pay which is unbelievable considering the venue knew that the person could not transfer , rather than relaxing before the big day were in a panic to resolve the problem.
We took the father in law up and down the stairs as required, using the TRE70. He could then attend the wedding.
